The iPad Air Review
The iPad was the bestselling tablet in the market for years when Samsung and other Android powered tablets finally dethroned the Apple giant. However, the company has been releasing a number of new introductions in the market, and the latest iPad Air is likely to turn eyebrows. The iPad Mini was the previous release, which allowed Apple to infiltrate the 7 inch tablet market, the current leader of which is the Nexus 7. However, when many were expecting to introduce the Retina Display on the iPad, it did not and instead, brought it in the iPad Air. The latest iPad from Apple takes a slightly different approach than its predecessors; Apple has decided to make everything a lot thinner and easier to manage than ever before.
The iPad Air is around 43% thinner and 28% lighter than the previous iPad model. Keeping this in comparison, just think of an iPad Mini that is much easier to handle and much lighter to hold. The back of the device is similar to other models, with a smooth surface. Even though it looks like there are dual speakers located at the bottom of the device, divided by the Lightning connector, it is actually one large speaker which is set up in two. For those who are thinking that the iPad Air is different from the iPad Mini, they will be sorely disappointed since this iPad is a clear copy of the Mini. However, there's not much to be disappointed about, since the iPad Mini was already one of the most beautiful looking devices in the market.
One of the biggest improvements that you will see in this iPad is its price. Whereas Apple is a company that is renowned for charging exorbitant amounts of prices for its products, the Apple iPad Air shall have a very affordable starting price of around $450 for the WiFi model, which puts it essentially at par with various other tablets in the market. A number of software upgrades have also been introduced on the iPad Air, and numerous free apps are set to make their comeback on the iPad Air to provide a refined operating experience.
One very viable feature for users is the iOS 7, which makes its debut on the iPad Air. The iOS 7 looks absolutely stunning on the 9.7 inch retina display. With a resolution of 2048 by 1536 and 264 pixels per inch, you can't really get a better looking display in the market when you consider the 10” screen size. The internals are very well handled, with power provided from the A7 processing chip and the 64 bit architecture. To track movements, etc. the company has also included the M7 motion coprocessor. Apple has long been renowned for creating absolutely gorgeous looking devices, and the iPad Air certainly reaffirms that statement by providing a fantastic, albeit similar design and unparalleled performance. Compared to the improvements and the affordable pricing, this is easily one of the best tablets in the market.
